When you first dig into the details of planning your most awaited wedding, you quickly find things can become disorganized and quite overwhelming, with lot things to keep track of. But, don’t worry!! One great way to help make sure nothing is forgotten is to choose a good wedding checklist.

So, here it is... a wedding time management checklist, based on the timelines and time-frames.

Twelve to nine months prior to wedding:

  • Work out on your budget and find out how much you want to spend?
  • Reserve your date and venues.
  • Booking on the followings:
                 Venue for each ceremony
                 Caterer
                 Decorator
                 Entertainment facilities
Five to four months prior:
  • Order your wedding invitation cards.
  • If your wedding venue doesn't offer its own catering service, then look for a professional caterer.
  • Meet your musicians, DJs, music band, Mehendi artist, Beautician, Hair stylist, & Cinematographers.
  • Book your accommodation for outstation guests.
  • Place an order to the wedding boutique for the engagement and wedding attires.
  • Draw up a schedule of the events and slot in each component.
  • Book your priest.
  • Design your wedding theme.
Two months prior:

  • Finalize the menu, decor and theme.
  • Filled up an application for marriage registration.
  • Go for your wedding gift shopping.
  • Send invitations to all the guests.
  • Book transportation vehicles.
  • Send your event schedule to the vendors.
  • Book your honeymoon package.
A month prior to wedding:
  • Get in touch with all your vendors.
  • Confirm your final guest list.
  • Finalize shopping list for the wedding day.
  • Book security personals.
  • Finalize wedding hall layout and seating arrangements.
  • Get your hair cut and beauty treatments.
One week before wedding:

  • Reconfirm arrival times with vendors.
  • Delegate small wedding-day tasks.
  • Pick up your wedding attire.
  • Inform about the timeline of events to your guests.
  • Check in with the photographer.
  • Set aside checks for the vendors.


A day before your wedding:
  • Call your beautification for a spa and final beauty treatments.
On the D’ day ask your friends and relatives to look out for:
  • Timely execution of the event.
  • Make sure that guests do not face any problem during the event.
  • Make sure of everything runs smoothly.

  • Contact the event manager in case of any problem.
  • Make sure that outfit, Jewelry, presents, and all rented items are safe.
  • Look out for suspicious people like freebies and thieves.
  • Switch on generators during the power failure.
  • Handle the entire security.
  • Ask your near ones to take care about the payment made, to be made and deposits to be collected to see if there hidden cost.
